After tres anos of sticking it to SDSU with their kebabs, the liquid-bread-obsessed duo behind CK have expanded on their successful concept by adding the only type of garden really worth talking about a really nice botanical one! to provide the perfect place to elevate your game, and yourself. It's on the second floor.
The Digs: Situated on the beach side of Mission, the highlight of the new joint is the aforementioned Astro-Turf'd, beach-view patio with both picnic & wine barrel tables, while indoors the barn wood bar fronts a wall of albums, though probably not Chumbawamba's, as beer gardens aren't known for their whiskey drinks, or their vodka drinks, or their cider drinks.
The Brews: They just added a three-barrel brewing system, which a former Ballast Point & Alpine brewer will soon use to ferment a frequently changing lineup of house brews, but in the meantime, the 20 taps will be stocked with Ballast Point's Reef Rye, Hofbrau, and Allagash Victor Ale brewed with Cabernet grapes, although you can barley taste the wine.
The Skewers: Foodstuffs center around Turkish doner kebabs (chicken, lamb, falafel, veggie) and skewered bits like garlic pepper shrimp, pomegranate sirloin, and herbed chicken that, like most things in PB, has been marinating so long it, too, is next level. It's on the second floor, remember?
