Thrillist Los AngelesGoing casual doesn't mean you have to sacrifice quality -- if it did, you wouldn't insist on cargo pants made from the finest baby whaleskin. For shoes that live up to that creed, check out the first collection from 3:33.
Started by a pro skater as an alternative to his line of sponsored sneakers, 3:33's taken three classically chilled-out styles and given them the royal treatment (i.e., hand-made, and finished off with a coyly annoying hand-wave). The shoes use only top-notch materials: exterior options include suede and sheep leather, and all interiors are made with high-end pig leather, an extra-comfortable touch that'll cause a homeless Jim Everett to heave you fifty yards down Cahuenga. Each style comes in 3 colors/designs, with options ranging from dressy-ish to super-casual: the kung-fu-shoe-inspired Lo-Top (plaid, white, black), the slipperish Hugh (checkered purple, brown, and black) and the zippered, moccasin-esque "Floppy", a shoe so laid-back it can't even be bothered to hold a shape.
Though 333's based in LA, all the shoes are made in Portugal -- a country that refuses to sacrifice handcrafted European workmanship, probably because of their casual attitude towards industrialization.
