Freemans Sporting Club

A taste of rustic old-timey-ness can provide welcome respite from our high-tech world -- assuming of course that old-timey-ness has an e-store. Get throwback gear from Freemans Sporting Club, just now online.

Freemans purveys clothing and men's grooming supplies from a boutique/barber shop that's tucked away in Manhattan's Lower East Side like a balloon of fashion heroin. Their e-store carries a range of sturdy buttondowns, ties, and jackets made with vintage deadstock materials, as well as a collection of supersoft cotton tees -- including one with loose lips actually sinking a ship (lesson: just eat the deposit on that tandem kayak with Richard Armitage). You can also get your run of the barber shop's obsessively culled selection of shaving/hair product, plus face weaponry like a hand-crafted, hard-carbon-steel straight razor and an ebony-and-chrome Mach 3 handle, which oozes nostalgia for the primitive tri-bladed days of 1995.

There's also a smattering of more random items, like handmade moccasins, and a loaded-up Leatherman, a pocket-sized modernization of an old-timey standby: tools you don't know how to use.
