Edition No. 003

Bringing fresh styles and ideas to Montauk

Occasionally a sequel can actually surpass its predecessors -- The Dark Knight was The Batman franchise's biggest hit, and if 2 Fast 2 Furious did 2 much of anything, it was kicking 2tal ass. Improving on last summer's T.B.D. pop-up shop: Edition No. 003.

Nestled in Montauk's Sole East Resort and decorated in conjunction with a BK-based industrial designer, Edition's slinging a fascinatingly varied range of gear & goods within a refined-yet-rustic space, with industrial-era touches (racks made from distressed pipe) beside a wall made from a Northfork boatyard's 100-year-old wood (who knew Larry King's nickname was Northfork Boatyard). Amassing an armada of modern menswear, gear highlights include Rag & Bone polos (charcoal grey w/ white contrast collar), lightweight gingham button downs & marine shorts from A.P.C., Orlebar Brown swim trunks, and tie-die short sleeves from Band of Outsiders, which would have been a Band of Brothers had they not left C. Thomas Howell behind. Beyond threads, there're accessories to cover your cash (Billykirk wallets) and eyes (Selima Shades), plus beach reading (art/design/surf mags), manstyling products from Malin and Goetz, and salt air-resistant outdoor furniture from Richard Schultz' 1966 collection, sold to commemorate the last time his brother Charles ever penned something original.

New styles and items'll be added all season, with planned drops including custom surfboards, and two-wheelers from Linus Bikes, whose Euro style is made to carry the rider more comfortably, making it seem Ludacris 2 ever get off and Walker.
