Linus Bikes at Steven Alan BAZAAR

Americans have been slow to catch up on certain elements of European life, like lunches so long they border on unemployment, and body hair so long it borders on...head-hair. Catching you up on the legitimacy of biking, Linus Bikes, now at East Hampton's Steven Alan pop-up, BAZAAR.

Founded by a couple of globe-trotting surfers, Linuses are inspired by the lightweight, functional straight lines of 1950’s-60’s French bicycles, a simple elegance lost when cycling became dominated by men who pee their tights during races. BAZAAR's carrying two pre-assembled models, each single speed with coasting breaks and a 3-piece forged aluminum crank w/ leather handgrips and curved aluminum handlebars, great for giving a weaving ride to a friend, or that rare hitchhiker who isn't in a hurry to get anywhere. The speed Roadster Classic (available in a medium 51cm/20” frame and a 58cm/23” large frame) has an upright posture more appropriate for a gentleman and comes in either black or cream, while the Dutchi Women’s (black or red) comes in one size, with a curved frame and standard rack, qualities you'll appreciate on its rider as you pass the Dutchi.

BAZAAR also carries Linus accessories (canvas and leather bag add-ons; rear carriers), and of course non-biking gear as well: 109 vendors (Rogan, Acne, Property Of…), plus Hamptons-exclusive Steven Alan beach blankets -- to cover your exposed ankles when you discover America's not ready for your Capris.
