Surf's up...in your den

Though Weymouth is known for a couple of things (being the hometown of Johnny Depp's character in Blow, having the second-best Hearth n' Kettle on the South Shore), surfing has never been one of them, until Joseph Holzman started selling his wares, that is. A carpenter by trade, JH uses reclaimed wood to create surf-oriented homegoods and works by the motto, "don't erase, adjust", which is very different from Eraserhead's motto of "erase everything, and do it using my head".

Surf Stuff: All of his surf gear features a signature cherry paint job with two white stripes down the middle, and ranges from a wall lamp made out of a longboard, to a hanging ceiling light made from two smaller models, to an actual skimboard that you could use in the ocean, but then, what would the people in your house look at for 45 minutes?

Decidedly Non-Surf Stuff: If you only purchase lamps made of boogie boards, opt instead for sweet coasters made from a sawed log (bark still on!), a kitchen table with a log base featuring roots jutting out of it, or a coffee table hand-carved from a single piece of reclaimed wood that's "one of a kind", unlike that Hearth n' Kettle on Main Street, which is more like one of six.
