It's hard to find furniture that can withstand Tom Cruise's enthusiasm fits your place perfectly, so thank your lucky stars that 30yr-old, California-based SofaWorks has mysteriously chosen Dallas to host its first-ever storefront, where you'll find samples aplenty of customizable, retro-luxe chaises, sectionals, love seats, and couches. What you do, and what they do:

Customization: Start by choosing one of 44 template frames, then tell them precisely how big it needs to be, how soft/supportive you want it, how deep the seats should be, the angle of recline, and whether or not you want the cushions wrapped in down. Finally, select from thousands of fabric and leather options (or use your own), and nail down little things like seam detail, nail trim, or fringe -- a breathlessly exciting process, so be sure to Pacey yourself.

Construction: Making everything in their LA factory, they use eight-gauge serpentine springs coated to prevent squeaking and spaced at three inches for optimal buttressing. Frames are double-doweled and built out of kiln-dried alder wood, while cushions incorporate "high resiliency" foam, which bounces back no matter how fat the buttocks of the stoner who sits on it.

Every one of their templates can be made into any type of seating surface, and they'll work with you on custom layouts -- if they could devise something specifically engineered to be stood on and leaped off, well, that would be crazy.
