Blu Home's 3D Configurator

Design a house, then have it delivered

The saying goes "If you build it, they will come", but what if you want someone else to build it, then actually bring it to you? Then check out Blu Home's 3D Configurator, a slick online visualization tool helping you customize an eco-friendly modular home they'll build in a warehouse and deliver to your whatever-your-homeless-ass-has-instead-of-a-doorstep, installing it in a single day! Log on to:

  • Choose from six different architect-designed, one-to-two-story home styles, each with varying BR/BA configurations
  • Select a coordinated palette for everything from the exterior to individual rooms, optionally modifying components like countertops or cabinetry (Rule #1 of a rocking house: White Stripes can overpower a small room)
  • Choose a kitchen appliance package based on your level of culinary interest, with higher end brands including Wolf and Sub-Zero, whose refrigerators wait until you look at leftovers before shouting "FINISH THEM!"
  • Select from a Kohler-dominated smattering of sinks, tubs, and toilets, the quality of which also should be related to your level of culinary interest
  • Input your height to take a 3D walkthrough of your digs from your exact perspective, so a 180-degree view from the couch should suffice

Once submitted, you'll probably have at least a few phone calls to go over specifics like what climate they'll be building it for, as having an un-winterized house delivered to a plot in Iowa would make for a field of nightmares.
