Taking the zz out of puzzles

Because if there's one thing you'd totally want to do while stranded in a snowed-in cabin with no video games, or alcohol, or playing cards, or romance novels, or Scattergories, or copies of Back to the Future II, it's puzzles, which's why you should totally check out Laserist. The online puzz purveyor is based outta Sac-town and slings laser-cut plywood 3D joints that're easy to assemble and cover all manner of awesome, from badass weapons to billionaire vehicles.

Still puzzled? Here's a piece-by-piece breakdown:

Guns!: In addition to a Beretta and a revolver and a lead pipe, and a rope, and a candlestick, and a knife, and a wrench, Laserist's puzzle czar carries an actual-size Uzi that can be assembled in 20-30mins, and even includes a loadable clip.

Vehicles!: Ranging from underwater to supersonic, the shop's shload of drive-ables includes a fancy yacht, a submarine, and an F15, so just make sure -- if you decide to build that last one -- you watch out for John McClane driving a semi truck up to it then attempting to jump on it while the elevated highway above him explodes, before he inexplicably leaps to safety in an enclosed underground garage. Or something.

What's more, you can also score a custom iPad or Netbook stand that you can stain and color, which you'd totally want to do if you were stranded in a snowed-in cabin with no video games, or alcohol, or playing cards, or romance novels, or Scattergories, or copies of Back to the Future II, or puzzles.
