Eat: The Hall at the Palihouse
This brasserie and lounge is housed in a Old-School-New-Orleans-styled, extended stay hotel. The restaurant (out on the patio) boasts So-French dishes like Baby Lamb Chops w/onion tapenade and croque madame, while the inside lounge mixes drinks right at your seat -- so you can easily reverse engineer their inscrutable recipe for the Vodka-Cran.
Buy: Duvnic
This new, downtown-based t-shirt shop's slowly introducing their new line: by next week, there'll be thirteen 40-stitch, non-shrink cotton numbers, each emboldened with an iconic image (guitars, crests, skulls) and pre-ground for wear at the collar, sleeve, and bottom (bespoke pit-stains are available upon overwhelming stress).

Cook: Hipcooks West
Novice-friendly classes start this week at the new Westside branch of the Downtown cooking school. Among the offerings: the martini primer "A Cocktail Party," the morose-bachelor-friendly "Cooking for One", and "Shortcut To Nirvana" -- which for many men is also known as "Takeout".

Buy: Sportie LA Cali Sneakers
This just-launched, limited-edition (150 pairs) collaboration w/ Puma matches the black-and-gold color scheme of one of California's all-time great sports franchises, Cobra Kai. There is no fear in this leather lowtop.

Valentine's Reading: Carma Sutra
This illustrated manual lays out detailed, avoid-that-hand-break instructions on 80 sex positions achievable in a variety of vehicles, everything from a spacious, Lincoln-sized ride to a motorcycle. Impressive, but nothing compared to the single-positioned acrobatics of the Pogo Sutra.
