Eat: Verrazano's Pizza

612 N La Brea, Mid Wilshire; 323.933.1744

From two ex-Staten Islanders, this traditional New York pizzeria rocks homemade sauce, dough, and meatballs, and offers Neapolitan-thin by-the-slice action like the Grecia (black olives, roma tomatoes, feta cheese) and the Denino (meatball, ricotta). Coming soon're pies both "Grandma-style" (thinner crusted, fresh basil/garlic/mozzarella) and Sicilian -- pizzas so square, they live with their grandmas.

Eat: Philippe's The Original's 100 Year Anniversary

Monday starting at 4pm at: 1101 N Alameda St, Downtown; 213.628.3781

For their centennial, the self-proclaimed inventors of the French Dip are slashing their usually $5-6 sandwiches back to a turn-of-the-century 10¢. They're also cutting their already ludicrously priced 10¢ coffee down to 5¢, savings that'll help you keep up with your mortgage payments.

Buy: Inago Men's Dept

8364 W 3rd St, Mid Wilshire; 323.653.1888

This formerly chick-only boutique's launched a simple next-door dude closet, stocking the likes of jeans from 5EP, hats from GRN Apple Tree, and tux shirts from Fillippa K. At some point, they're going to physically merge the stores, a process that'll hopefully start with someone demanding "Mr. Inago, tear down that wall!"

Free food and drinks and an invite-only opening sale Oct 15; to get on the list, email inagorsvp@gmail.com

While no shoe purchase is necessary, if Bad Religion is true to their name, they'll suggest everyone get the same pair, then commit mass suicide next time Hale-Bopp comes around.

Skip the store: 10 pairs of tickets go to the first 10 people to email badreligiontickets@gmail.com; more info's at GVR.etniesskate.com
