Rate My Cop

As a taxpayer, you should have the right to give critical feedback to the police officers you support -- but you're more likely to taste cruiser hood than have anyone heed your calls for greater punctuality and less unruly facial hair. Reclaim your voice, with Rate My Cop, launched this week.

Started by a Culver City couple, RMC's a database of over 120,000 policemen in over 1,000 departments nationwide, designed so users can give cringing, anonymous appraisals of individual officer performance. When you have your next inevitable run in, simply get the officer's name and badge #, then search the site for their personal page; once there, answer a brief questionnaire ("Are you satisfied with the outcome of this incident", etc) and give an overall rating -- from "Callous/Cold", to "Exceptional/Good" (Jesus -- it's anonymous, so you can stop sucking up, coward). Though it's vetted for inappropriate language/threats, there's also a comment field, where you can give your account of the encounter: "I wasn't actually speeding", or "As he wrote up my noise complaint, he kindly ignored the bong".

Since RMC just launched, there aren't yet an enormous amounts of comments/rankings; it's therefore your civic duty to test all 120,000 officers, making special note of the tightness of the restraints when they strap you into the chair.
