Opening this week in Silverlake, Rescue's goal's to stock primarily previously-unavailable-in-CA clothing, starting with Hong Kong-influenced Klurk -- whose tailored button-downs and pants fuse night-on-the-town casualness and Triad finger-severing ceremony formality. For denim, there're handmade jeans from NYC's In God We Trust, the wearing of which will make you money. The t-shirt standout's M Carter, whose designs range from the coolly ominous (six-shooter-with-bottle-of-Dickel) to the nostalgically humorous (alien icons including ET, Alf, and the Noid -- himself un-coolly ominous for anyone awaiting a pizza).
To celebrate their opening, Rescue's throwing a party this Saturday: a Tiger Beer/V2 Vodka open bar, plus previously unseen photos of exotic celebs like Mick Jagger, Sophia Lauren, and...Paris Hilton, for whom opposable thumbs have had spotty utility at best.
