Farmhaus
Cereals like Lucky Charms offer occasional luscious bits of sugary deliciousness amongst the oaty chaff, but what if your bowl was full of nothing but those marshmallows?? No, not gross, great! Filling your wardrobe bowl w/ nothing but sweet limited edition gear, Farmhaus.
Just opened in Los Feliz, Farmhaus's a 1000sqft boutique befitted with glossed cement floors, mid-century vintage couches, and old-school jukeboxes, selling exclusively limited-run clothes from an oft-rotating, carefully-curated group of designers, and started by a guy who already owns a jeans company and a brewery, and helps his family with their slew of local Thai restaurants, but was tired of all that free time. Offerings include exclusive gear from local upscale-casual Grn Apple Tree (a 15-piece run of long-sleeve button-ups made from rare Italian fabric, and Japanese-Italian denim lined with that same cloth); straight-legged Farmer-brand jeans made from organic deadstock and capped at 50 pairs; and a 'Haus-only shirt from local tee-smiths Viper Black, featuring a Rorschach-ish print of a man's face that either looks like Coldplay's Chris Martin, or you clearly hate your dad. FH's also the only store in the US to carry UK streetwear brand Supreme Being (bright-colored hoodies, military coats, tees, etc), and's also stocking a sick cache of 80s-era Pony sneakers, including the hi-topped "Uptown" and "City Wings", and the low topped "New Classic," which beats "Old Future" despite its nuclear jet packed Commie-fighting glory.
On Friday night, 'Haus'll be throwing an opening party with free food from Soi 56, an open bar, DJs, and one-night-only offerings from their brands, including hand-screened Grn Apple Tree posters and Pony sneaks painted by local artists, which are great, but what if they were full of nothing but marshmallows??!
