La Grande Orange (Santa Monica) (now closed)

The newborn Westside sibling to the vaunted Pasadena cafe looks almost like they dropped a restaurant in a firehouse, thanks to way-high ceilings and exposed brick walls, with grub constantly changing depending on what's fresh at the Santa Monica Farmers' Market. There's both deli-style grab-and-go (right now, sushi, beet/goat cheese "Sonoma Salad"...) and eat-in, with an expansive breakfast/lunch/dinner menu that'll include the likes of baked Alaskan halibut w/ melted fennel, braised Niman Ranch pork shoulder w/ apricot-mustard glaze, and DIY filet mignon tacos w/ fresh-to-order tortillas and plentiful fixins, so really, DIY shirt stains.
