When first unleashing a product, new businesses cautiously limit their output to just a few models -- Barbie debuted in 1959, but it took another 38 years to bravely unveil Jeff Gordon NASCAR Barbie. Throwing caution to the wind, Cassius sunglasses.

From a bold New Zealander, Cassius launched earlier this year with not one, not two, but 10 styles, each inspired by designs from the '60s and '70s, and named after a historically important architect (two names will be familiar, the rest could just as easily be members of the All Blacks). Each frame's handcrafted from Italian zyl acetate w/integrated titanium spring hinges, and fitted with UV400-rated lenses made from "CR-39", an abrasion-resistant plastic monomer used in WWII to repair airplane fuel tanks struck by flak...so there's that. Models run from the secret-agentish "Corbu", to the futuristically hexagonal, open-temple "Niemeyer", to the oversized, oval-shaped "Berlage," named after "The Father Of Modern Architecture", though they look inspired by "The Aunt of Maria Shriver".

All models are limited-edition, with only 300 of each available worldwide -- because putting out a bunch of styles is one thing, but being able to outfit more than the cast of Sparta would be pure madness.
