Sonoma Uncorked

When it comes to wine-country trips, you have to become a madly responsible researcher to have any hope of becoming irresponsibly sauced. Fortunately, someone's gone and done it for you, at Sonoma Uncorked.

SU's a charmingly low-fi site that couples pithy recs of most everything worth visiting/knowing in the Sonoma/Alexander Valleys with pinpoint Gmapping, helping you jam out an itinerary nearly as fast as you can say "screw it, break out the Wii". Items include everything from wineries & tours, to eateries & farmers markets, to lodging, with full descrips just a click away (e.g., a vino tour's varietals/pedigree/personnel, a B&B's amenities/booking info, or how many of your bridesmaids can simultaneously submerge themselves in a spa's luxury-mud). Anything you "favorite" will pop up at your "My Sonoma" screen; settle on an area or venue, and the accompanying map'll show you all nearby amenities, i.e., pick a wine tour and it'll show you the closest hotel, golf course, lunch spot, or other wine tour.

For an extra assist, SU's got lists covering "What's Hot?" (blistering winery and harvest festival events) and "Most Popular", indicating items beloved by people who themselves refused to do too much research; still, given your narrow, saucy goals, you'll be surprised how far you can see when standing on the shoulders of midgets.
