100 Styles and Running

Somewhere between finding hairs growing in strange places on his body, around when there's a mustache growing ironically on his face, today's guy tends to hit a second, subtler adolescence. Get the shoes for it, from 100 Styles and Running.

From a brotherly duo who claims they're making "shoes, not sneakers", 100SR's a just-dropped line that spans the gap between footwear your pops might rock and the streety trainers he'd blame for the younger generation's low voter turnout. Nomenclature aside, comfort's definitely sneakerlike, thanks to a scientifically formulated last and no-break-in-required recovery-foam insoles; cultivation bears out in the Colston slip-on boat shoe and the classic, low-top'd Dylan, which'd look equally at home on both its namesake (Bob) and your future son's namesake (McKay). Meanwhile, the hi-top'd Abbott's grounded in restrained black or chocolate brown nubuck, but also gets to partyin' with its bright suede "pop" colors, including red, royal blue, and melon, the closest you'll ever come to having your shoes and eating them too.

This fall, 100SR's rolling out three more models, including the Chase chukka and the Lowell Hi, which is almost all the way to being a proper boot -- just in time to help you with your developing, 2nd-adolescent urge to cover your cankles.
