Two things can sabotage the fun of rec-league sports: the annoying need for organization, and the klutzy doofus you keep on the roster solely to handle said organization. 86 that talentless nerd, and leave the details to MyTeamCaptain.

MTC's a free service that makes coordinating your occasionally athletic drinking squad easier than accidentally forfeiting three weeks in a row. The process: after despotically declaring yourself captain, input your game dates/locations. Next, plug in your squad's email addresses, and indicate lead-time on automatic pre-game reminders; teammates then reply to either confirm attendance or blame their absence on cheap excuses, like "business travel" or "shattered femur". You can even assemble a list of preferred backups/ringers, saving you from desperately meeting coed-league quotas with a bewigged Jonathan Brandis.

MTC also provides helpful side benefits, including local weather reports, and player stats and league-payment tracking -- making you reel in disbelief when you realize that what Poindexter lacked in skills, he made up for in checkbook.
