Harris Tweed Scotland
An item's true cost/value analysis must consider its relative longevity -- a cheap car may seem like a good deal at first, but when the trunk can't contain the dead hooker smell, you'll wish you'd invested some extra coin up front. Get long-term returns from your sportcoat, with Harris Tweed Scotland.
From the oldest producer of world-renowned Harris Tweed (which all originates in Scotland's Outer Hebrides), HTS jackets're inspired by the original ones made from its namesake material which came to define English landed gentry by the late 1800s (not the tattered blankets that defined frigid Scottish peasants far earlier). The elaborate, essentially unchanged tweed creation process: after 100% virgin wool's dyed and spun into yarn, local crofters use centuries-old techniques to weave the tweed by hand on traditional looms, then return it to the mill to be expertly washed and finished...with the tears of Christopher Lambert! Designed to wear-in gracefully, HTS's current line features four uniquely soft classic fabrics, from the tannish Barva, to the grey-and-white-speckled Laxdale; each jacket's single breasted w/ all-leather buttons and features a half-canvas interlining to prevent creasing and hold the shape, keeping you kempt even after vigorous jacketivities like foxhunting, or falconry, which is just way lazier foxhunting.
Interestingly, Harris Tweed's the only fabric in the world governed by an Act of Parliament, meaning each HTS piece is hand-inspected by Britain's HT Authority prior to receiving a seal of authenticity -- so despite your jacket's longevity, given the proclivities of British politicians, you're in no way guaranteed you won't smell like dead hookers.
