The List

Gear: Social Designer

SD asks users to submit tee designs inspired by one of their causes, then prints and sells the winning design, with a portion of the proceeds going to said charity, and $2000 landing in the lap of the victor. Recent beneficiaries include the American Cancer Society, Architecture for Humanity, and Aikido International Foundation, dedicated to protecting its namesake martial art, which apparently isn't very effective if it can't take care of itself.

Cool Furniture: Liquid Lamps

Available in either wall or desk versions, these lamps' stark white, one-piece shades're wrought from iron, and appear to be oozing a red liquid that's actually just an extension of the shade itself, a Shining-esque visual trick that would give Scatman Crothers a heart attack if he hadn't already died from pneumonia. What, too soon?

These lamps have always been at Gnr8.biz
