Adults and toys don't really go together -- they're immature, show you don't have friends, and even once you're done Robin Williams will still always have those two awful hours of your life. Turning a love for awesome toys into something no one can criticize, the photography of Gareth Payne.Hailing from Toronto, GP's peddling a variety of poster-sized prints focusing mainly on a series of close-ups of various Star Wars action figures & Lego mini-figs, re-imagining their various behind-the-scenes antics, which, when Princess Leia's involved, are super barbiturate-y. Highlights include "Stormnanigans", with one Trooper pushing another around in a Barbie shopping cart; "Stormwalking", in which another white-suited piece of laser fodder goes all moonwalk on a black catwalk; and one in which a Trooper shoes away cinemas most famous droids from Vader on the john (apparently he can't C3P-GO with anyone watching). Continuing in the vein of galactic life's diversions, there's also "Merry Sithmas!" w/ a yuletide be-hatted Vader flanked by two gift-bearing Troopers; a vuvuzela-blowing Imperial guard chasing down a rebel officer; and Boba Fett reenacting Marilyn's iconic sidewalk-grate dress-blowing shot while wearing a wooly poncho, which may cause a literal Seven Year Itch. You can also order up any of the available pieces in notecard size, toy-scale versions you can send to your friends Robin Williams.
