Drinks: Nurse Bettie

Nurse Bettie

Every sceney spot needs a spillover bar nearby -- a subdued place where you can booze 'til you're ready to face the prospect of wedging yourself into a jockeying throng. So if you're hitting the still-ludicrously-packed Back Room, meet up at this just-opened, tiny, pinup girl-themed bar first. It's literally next door, has comfortable (and weirdly butt-gripping) banquettes, and serves up cocktails stiff enough to make you forget that the beautiful women on the posters are by now involuntarily spilling over the seams of their Depends.

At this sneaker-freak bazaar, collectors will be selling rare kicks priced anywhere from $70 to $1000+. As an attendee, you can also bring up to three pairs to sell/trade, but keep in mind the event's dominated by Nikes (AF-1s, Dunks, etc) -- so good luck unloading your Manwich-stained, glow-in-the-dark Keds.

Drinks: Pro Bull Riders at Lonesome Dove

Pro Bull Riders at Lonesome Dove

If you're not catching this weekend's PBR rodeo at MSG, but still want to meet men who get their guts gored for a living, stop by the Dove's bar -- where top riders'll be sipping margaritas and comparing orthopedic braces. Lonesome's also instituted a buy-a-drink, get-an-app happy hour, with Friday's offering being Grilled Lamb Skewers -- hopefully not in honor of the attending celebrities.
