APC Surplus

33 Grand St, at Kent, Brooklyn; 347.381.3193

A big payoff is worth an arduous journey: Ponce de Leon scoured Florida for the Fountain of Youth, and IKEA's in Jersey. For eternally-discounted gear, hit Brooklyn's APC Surplus, open tomorrow.

Thrillist - A.P.C. SurplusA new store fronting the vaunted Parisian label's Williamsburg shipping depot, APC-S purveys a rotating selection of prior seasons' pieces, all at 50-60% off (a markdown on par with what Parisians get every time they buy American with Euros). Offerings include dress jackets/slacks, merino sweaters, and button-downs, all slim cut, dark-hued, and subtly influenced by APC's signature punk/prep fusion, a.k.a., the Iggy-Pop Collar. There's also assorted footwear, e.g., ankle-high boat shoes, plus trenches, and bombers in cord, leather, and denim -- giving you the sartorial flexibility you demand before nattily firebombing Dresden.

Beyond surplus, APC-S'll soon sell a unique-to-this-location line of customized cargos, shirts, and jackets culled from European military uniforms -- not discounted, but considering how much you saved on those Sultan Landön slatted bed bases, you can afford it.
