Crashstat

Though rarely reported, you're certain that for every excessively bumpy cab ride there's an excessively flattened pedestrian writhing in the street. Revealing the truth: Crashstat 2.0 (beta).

Thrillist - CrashstatMassively updated after a lengthy hiatus, Stat's a GMap that aggregates the horror of car-on-man and car-on-bicyclist violence. The grisly data's filterable by year, type of accident, most dangerous intersections per borough, and crash proximity to schools -- in case you have kids, or just hang around schools. Incidents are marked with blue dots (injured on foot), red dots (injured on bike), gray man-shapes (dead people), and gray bicycle-shapes (dead cyclists); click any to see that location's crash history, thereby revealing trends that'll scare you out of crossing 76th and 3rd anytime during 1996.

While Stat touts itself as "NYC's most up to date street safety resource", it only divulges statistics up to 2005 -- so despite its comprehensiveness, it still doesn't know what your cab driver did last summer.
