Meet Inbetween

Assuming your friends are normal (i.e., part a-hole), their suggestion of "let's meet halfway" is probably a ruse for "let's meet somewhere secretly more convenient for me". Inform your compromises, with MeetInbetween.us.

MIB's a slick GMap that susses the closest-to-equidistant point between two addresses, then suggests nearby rendezvous spots, so you're not forced to awkwardly stand outside the Times Square Army Enlistment Office. Just input two starting addies and MIB'll shoot back the exact center point, then ask you to pick from a list of meeting place types, e.g., bar, hotel, coffee shop, or, oddly, "Apple Store" (a selection that returns any business with "apple" in it, but won't get you any closer to enjoying Justin Long's sweet, sweet condescension). MIB also lets you search for nearby establishments, easily ferreting out specifics ("Mondo Kim's", "American Trash"), though broader queries can leave you far-from-center ("Andean Pan Flutists" near Broadway returns the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts...in Katonah).

Once you decide on a middle ground, MIB provides a permalinked map of the location -- so you can send a link for proof that no matter what your buddy says, there are Starbucks in buildings that aren't his office.
