Eat: La Fonda del Sol

La Fonda del Sol

A re-imagining of the same-named '60s restaurant, Fonda's trotting out modern Latin (sea scallop ceviche, whole black bass, prime rib, etc) and suds, e.g., Alhambra Negra, Otro Mundo Red, and Estrella Damm. Seating's split between the airy, windows-on-the-street downstairs cafe (open now) and the soon-to-open dining room, brightly carpeted and lorded over by immense circular chrome ceiling fixtures -- like the rings that imprisoned General Zod in the Phantom Zone of...Midtown?
