Run by a techno-Darwinist clearly weened on Beast Wars, this day-long boozy art installation lets 4-person teams pit remote controlled various species of robotic monkeys against each other inside a ring of death (cost per battle = $1/team, prizes tbd). Everyone who stops by gets 1/2-off whiskey and vodka -- because the only thing better than people fighting each other via robotic monkeys, is people fighting each other to fight each other via robotic monkeys.

For on-the-go besotted frugality, this just-launched iPhone app first geo-locates you, then lists the 10 nearest happy hours in order of starting time (e.g., $1 Slane well drinks in 22 minutes, $4 Hop Devil select pints until 7pm, etc), plus GMaps them for easy wayfinding. The app also lets you search happy hours by hood & day, and even creates a customizable clock face that displays the time frames of your faves (what time is it? Time to get swill).

This Bklyn-based e-store will custom carve any design on their signature sanded dark and blonde basswood mewelry, plus they offer a schload of original designs, from AK-47 and Biggie pendants, to boombox and revolver necklaces, to double- and triple-fingered rings arted w/ "love" and "hate" -- just like Radio Raheem would've worn, if he'd done the right bling.
