When you return from a self-imposed hiatus you've got to redouble your awesomeness -- like His Airness, who dominated the league with another three-peat, and Axl Rose, who has corn rows. Bringing it even harder than before, DoubleDown.

A pupil-meltingly bright collection of street-inflected gear, DD's an old school NY label just back on the scene after a five year break from the clothing biz, presumably spent walking around naked. The goodness starts with maroon & blue shackets, multi-colored graphic tees (huge 3D lightning bolts, gold beveled stars covering the shoulders), plus the irresponsibly awesome Jumbo Polo, which sports a tiny plastic vial applique filled with fake crack, and a hang tag that says "this tiny bottle...(check all that apply)" -- choices include "destroyed my child" and "financed my covert war", but sadly no "made me suck it like Mookie". Rounding things out are the accessories: handmade Cazal-style sunglasses w/ gradient tints, and a slim leather harness wallet that hangs beneath your shoulder and fits beneath your jacket (for when your credit stinks like armpit).

DD's gear is rolling out slowly, with the sunglasses and crack shirt avail now, and the rest dropping in the next month -- a brief hiatus allowing them to redouble their efforts at taking your money.
