Luxury Yacht Partners
You think that yachting's only for the fabulously wealthy. Well, you're only three-quarters right: Luxury Yacht Partners of New York.
LYP purveys power yachts by fractional ownership, allowing you to purchase one-quarter of a yacht, share operational expenses among owners, and test the time-honored maxim: you can fool some of the people all of the time/all the people some of the time/everybody else 25% of the time. Crafts start with the 61ft 2003 Sunseeker Predator, which sleeps 6 in 3 staterooms, tops out at 28 knots, and comes standard with flat screen, Sub-Zero fridge, and 2-burner stove by Kenyan, whose election troubles haven't kept him from offering peerless nautical kitchen appliances. LYP also offers a tuned-up 82ft 1972 Burger, which also sleeps 6, maxes at 12 knots, and offers optional use of a Robinson R-44 helicopter (provided Jan Michael Vincent's not using it to blow up the kidnappers' trucks).
If fractional ownership's not your style, LYP provides one, two, and three-day charters around Manhattan/The Hamptons/Miami/France aboard four separate craft, including the 94ft 8-sleeper "Conquest of 1966" -- though when you truly conquer something, you can usually afford to buy it outright.
