Thrillist San FranciscoThere are nights when you're torn between two possibilities: hit the bars to suck down cocktails, ogle women, and test the seductive powers of Drakkar Noir -- or go bowling. Now you can do both: Strike Cupertino.
Strike's a Jetsons-esque alley with 32 flatscreen-bedecked lanes, pool/air hockey/games, an expansive menu, and full bar -- everything you'd get from a typical night out, if your favorite bar insisted you wear their shoes. While most alleys' alcohol is limited to Domestic and Domestic Light/Lite, Strike serves up 25+ beers, a dozen martinis and specialty cocktails, and 13 varieties of shooter, from the "my palate peaked in 3rd grade" Birthday Cake to the Rumple Minze/Jager/Goldschlager'd "Death of a Pin". The menu includes both lowbrow alley fare (buffalo wings, chicken tenders, shrimp a la popcorn), and loftier grub like spinach-artichoke fondue, hoisin ribs, and fish tacos -- selections that'll drive away bowling purists, who'd embarrass you by consistently breaking 100. Strike offers all sorts of extra inducements, like Monday's four hours of bowling for $14, and Sunday's 9am NFL coverage -- when the cocktails will still flow, but given the lack of women, your Drakkar will be left to test its powers on jalapeno poppers.
