The rate at which snowboard tech improves means that even last season's models quickly become a memory, or would, if snowboarders still had those. For a guy cleverly refashioning said old boards, check out J Ryde Visuals.

Portland's J Ryde rescues snowboards, skateboards, and street signs from the trash heap and refashions them into "surprisingly comfy" tables and chairs that are colorful, yet somehow manage to retain a distinct minimalist bent -- fitting, as being bent is probably what got them trashed in the first place. Big-ass board chairs include one made with an aluminum c-channel frame and two color-matched, recycled Burtons, as well as an uber-low skate seater with reclaimed lumber framed by 10 decks -- have Louie Anderson sit on yours, and he'll prove that hardcore skaters aren't the only ones who go through a lot of decks very quickly. Planning on eventually setting a drink down somewhere? Then grab one of his 10"x10" topped tables, which include one made from a Burton Seven, and one from a bright orange, recycled, wooden street sign with a "reflective urban look", aka Kanye in stunner shades.

He's also fashioned skateboard wheels and decks into coat hooks to hang up your gear in a conspicuous spot, though if you're a snowboarder, you still probably won't remember where you put it.
