Not an artsy pizza joint from sort-of former Ranger Sammy Sosa, SozaDesigns is a new print-making venture from a Dallasite who's spent the last 15yrs working as the art director for marketing firms Javelin & Rapp, creating for companies like AT&T, Adobe, Playstation, DELL, Gatorade, and WaMu Benchmark Bank. He's using 7-mil semi-gloss paper to present magic including:
Dallas Landmarks: Deck your walls with a graffiti'd Deep Ellum water tower, Woodrow Wilson HS, the Granada, or the Magnolia Building, topped by a statue of Underwear Tom Cruise trying to show everybody he's hung like a winged horse.
Typography: Subway-style posters include East Dallas (Gaston Park, Munger Place, Lakewood...) and the M Streets, while retro-modern quoteboards showcase varied greats like Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and that jerk who failed to predict that his cat poems would be turned into a musical that would ruin the lives of a generation of male children.
Sports & Movies: Hang odes to TCU baseball and 1984 Olympic Water Polo, or go for cinematic fare like The Dude's rug or a bloodied Clockwork Orange Beethoven, who, unlike Sammy, was smart enough to take the 5th.
