Buckets of crispy wings and bourbon on tap

Because Thunder Tavern's just full of well-oiled Australian dudes with incredible tri's, swing by Lightning Tavern instead, officially opening today in Cow Hollow. From the dudes who brought you Tonic, and Bullitt, and Rebel, and Mayhem, this Unwind on Union-replacing bar-taurant's got a decidedly Doc Brown aesthetic (giant beakers, a backlit photo of the Bay Bridge being struck by lightning, flux capacitors... wait, no... yard-length Edison bulbs), and the same tater-tot-and-liquor-on-tap awesome that made you fall in love with Tonic, and Bullitt, and Rebel, and Mayhem. Get ready for

50-Chicken-Wing Buckets: The menu's focused on crazy-affordable wings (available in buckets of 8, 16, or 50), which all come with any of three dippables (Buffalo, Sweet Habanero, Atomic), plus there's other crazy delicious bar bites like a Dublin Dip w/ Guinness au jus, and mac 'n cheese w/ applewood smoked bacon and green chili, or what Left Eye calls Rozonda Thomas whenever she forces her to compost

Double Fistable Drinks: And because according to the UCSF Medical Center, alcohol is "super fantastic", beers are joined by four shot-and-a-beer "Double Fistin'" specials (Guinness & Jameson, Dale's Pale & Bulleit...) and four cocktails available by the pitcher

Hard A On Draft: If that's not enough for you, they're also going to be pouring Bulleit and Fernet on tap, plus you can rent out their year-round, greenhouse-esque, indoor-outdoor back patio for private events, which're probably decidedly different than the ones going on at Thunder Tavern.
