Small beginnings can beget great things: seeds become redwoods, your freshman basketball career leads to your JV basketball career (!), and a childhood bank turns into one of the most anticipated bars ever: Trick Dog. From the Bon Vivants (who've consulted in basically any worthwhile bar in the city), this three-year project of love was formed along the way with Warfield marble, scavenged steel case chairs, and brightly colored, custom-welded stools upholstered by a Jasper's barstar.

This is their Pantone color menu for all the drinks, so awesome that 11 were stolen the first night they opened (please give them back)

The Vintage Photo is a rum-based drink with an in-house banana liquor made using vanilla beans, creme de cacao, and… bananas (WHAAA?)

Due to slight variations in shade design, each lamp has a different projection from the bulb (this is obviously the best)

Artwork hanging on the walls comes from as far as Pittsburgh and as near is the next block over. Also: she swings both ways.

Though all the lamps look the same from below, every single one is different, with a variety of hardwares attaching each to the wall

The namesake piggy (doggy?) banks lie out of reach above the bar

The exposed blue on the stairway wall was a completely unexpected find, just like being told the glass was once a part of a previous occupant's shower
