In the old Sasso, this new sister spot to the North End trattoria with the same name serves up cocktails, late night eats, and dishes from the Piedmont and Lombardy regions of Italy like pan seared diver scallops w/ marinated chanterelle mushrooms and grilled scallions; slowly braised beef short ribs w/roasted potatoes and Gorgonzola; and rigatoni pasta with sweet and sour wild boar -- presumably just sweet and sweet before it was hunted down and slaughtered.

The first ten-pin bowling alley in Boston is celebrating 50 years in business by rolling back its prices on everything (pizza, burgers, drinks, etc) to those from 1959, a time when you could bowl a game for only 50 cents, and the 69 jokes that'd be all the rage in 10 years were still very much taboo.
You can even see the original full page (no joke!) Globe story announcing the bowling alley’s opening at BostonBowl.com154 Newbury Street, at Dartmouth; Back Bay; 617.236.1165
This expansive split-level spot (only the Brit designer’s second on the East Coast) offers all the classic BS shirts and jackets, jeans, suits, and specs -- not to mention kicks and leather goods -- in an elegantly decorated room cast as a study replete w/ chandelier, two leather chairs abutting a faux fireplace, and a wall painted to look like shelves filled with leather bound books -- which's pretty handy, considering you only look like you can read.

Ten years after showing its last film, this playhouse is kicking the doors back open as an art house single-screen theater run by the indie-centric guys behind West Newton and Belmont Studio Cinemas. The space has 435 seats, and kicks off with Cedric Klapisch's Paris, and R.J. Cutler's The September Issue, which, in Boston, always boils down to black North Face, or gray North Face, with black trim?
