Whimsically deck your walls

Having a pet to come back to can make any house feel like a home, until you realize you can totally see its butthole. Bad form, Snickers! Get the animal without the anus with art from Jesse Link.

This collection of highly textured collage-inspired paintings boasts a whimsical menagerie of wild/domestic animals in absurdist settings, as well as scenes from daily life undercut by pathos, all from the mind of a self-taught Seattle-based artist who started painting in earnest while deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he spent most of his time trying to identify what Michelangelo did W.M.D. Some highlights:

Umbrella Bear: A 36"x48" number boasting a dripping gray-ish smear (helpfully labeled H2O) above a flower-strewn alpine field, through which walks said umbrella-carrying brown bear, wearing only a pair of boxer shorts -- no doubt added after the outcry surrounding Umbrella Bare.

206: Boasting geo-appropriate raindrops/rainbows, this 3D graffiti-style set of numerals has been turned into a creature and topped w/ a crown, making it the king of area codes -- a title Ludacris might have something to say about, if he wasn't busy running lines for Fred Claus 2.

The Prodigious and the Paltry: A circle-of-life-ish painting featuring blue birds and a massive green caterpillar with tiny wings crawling from earthy depths where tree roots tap into a glowing power source, much like the Roots tapping into the same Jimmy Fallon.

To get in on the action, hit JL up via email for originals, or the e-store for prints on 100% cotton rag paper/stretched canvas, as well as iPad & iPhone decorative skins, though thanks to a certain chocolate Lab, who hasn't already gotten an eyeful of that?
