Have your funeral in space for just $2K

Thanks to Elysium Space, a spacebound funeral isn't science fiction (and looking up at the sky for the deceased is no longer delusional or even religious/spiritual in nature). For $2000, that's exactly what the new startup offers.

Once you've booked a flight, they'll ship off a space-grade aluminum alloy capsule (engraved as you choose) for a scoop of the cremains. Once returned, it'll be loaded onto a special spacecraft along with several other large commercial and scientific satellites, then launched at Cape Canaveral — an event you can either attend in person, or watch via webcast. Depending on the initial altitude of the satellites it's with, the craft will orbit above Earth for a few months or several years, and can be located at any given moment via a dedicated tracking app. Eventually though, it will find its way back into the Earth's atmosphere, and take one final bow as a blaze of light across the sky.
