Relwen

Spring might herald a magical time of florid blooming, but that doesn't mean you want to dress like a delicate flower. For a spring line in your wheelhouse, try Relwen.

Designed by an Ohio native/Michigan grad who once designed for Abercrombie, Relwen applies rugged construction to Americana-inspired casual-wear -- like Abercrombie, except not cheaply infused with washboard-ab-man-stink. The Vintage Jersey Polos are girded with reinforcement tape at the neck and shoulders, while the Commando Cargo pants/shorts use the heavy tex thread and brass trim of Korean War G.I. pants (may they not be cut away from your ravaged loins by Alan Alda). For moderately nasty weather, the yellow, slicker-style Ultra-Light Jacket's made with a membrane that balances breathability and waterproofing, and the Cross-Grain Fleece Hood sports a brass-snap throat closure, because know you've got an Adam's Apple and that should be enough.

Some of Relwen's spring gear's already on Apartment Number 9's shelves, but they didn't bother ordering the heavier stuff -- because spring is also a magical time of wishfully overestimating how warm it is.
