Spurred by her disdain for bulky, compartment-laden wallets, Prix's the pet project of a Colombia grad and ex green-architect: simple, functional cash-folders painstakingly constructed out of vintage neckties, plaid shirts, and tweed suits, though how she got into Pee Wee Herman's closet with him still in there is anybody's guess. But seriously, material with outdated prints (and black or gray wool suits for the interiors) is collected at thrift stores/estate sales before being deconstructed at the seams, thoroughly washed, and carefully cut into patterned pieces which maintain the original design (like Tetris, with the added challenge of patterned blocks), stitched up with an industrial sewing machine from the 60's, and coated with a stiffening agent to retain body -- unlike your pocket's normal stiffening agent, which just scares bodies away. Available styles include a simple black & white herringbone, any number of diagonally striped joints, a red & white polka dotted affair from the 70's, and an Aztec-y print in pink and orange, all of which come with functionally minimalist interiors: a large money pocket and two fold-facing credit card pouches to prevent plastic slippage, and give you at least 5 more seconds of fake-pretending-to-dig-through-the-wallet time when the check comes.
They'll also custom-make you one from whatever you want, from a keep sake of a lost loved one, to a lucky shirt, to your baby blanket, unless Jake already got to it, in which case your cover's blown.
