With distinctive ties, it's a fine line between edgy business attire and TGI Fridays-like "self-expression". For eyecatching neckwear that won't mark you as a flair fetishist, try Gytha Mander's new line.

Inspired by English Gentry/London punk, SF-based GM's bespoke style includes French-cuffed Windsor shirts, hunting blazers, and gumshoe-worthy ciggy holsters, but it's their power-nooses that've earned them respect from both blockbuster rockers (The Killers) and Blockbuster killers (Netflix's CEO). The new, 100% silk line's subtly subversive: the Morrison's paisley is more Crips bandana than neckerchief, while the Solanas' monogram features hearts, snowflakes, and Uzis -- symbols lifted from a box of Unlucky Charms. For a more reverential look, the Yankee Doodle Dandy's depictions of Revolutionary heroes'll showcase your patriotism the American way -- worn with a blue blazer, it'll even distract partisan admirers from your draft-dodging.
In a unique move, almost all of Gytha's ties come in both medium and skinny -- too daring for an office job, and too narrow to accomodate the requisite contingent of end-of-the-week-themed enthusiasm.
