Vysr

No matter what you're doing online, the fundamental questions remain: where is it? how much is it worth? what do you think about it? do i need a sweater? Keep the answers at hand, with Vysr.

Straight outta P'Alto from a "visionary" named Guda, Vysr's a free Firefox add-on that nestles unobtrusively in your browser's bottom right corner, where it provides a portable toolbox of functions that, without forcing you to open windows/tabs, provide easy access to a few basic details ("has weapons of mass destruction?"). Just highlight an address/zip or company name and click an icon to view the corresponding popup: locations yield either directions or current weather, while the company pop gets you the current stock quote (Guda gives "cheese" a strong buy). For a second opinion, there's a chat icon, which'll connect you with other Vysrs viewing the same site, regardless of its content and whether or not you've only got one free hand to type "oh, um, I thought beastlove was a Milwaukee's Best fan site".

Soon Vysr will expand their icon options, and launch a platform that'll analyze the nature of any highlighted text to present you with only the relevant look-ups -- answering other fundamental questions, like "How the hell do I pronounce Vysr?"
