Nestled in a FiDi alley, the new CP's decked out with antique tables and light fixtures, fat loungey booths, and a large gilded L-bar (that serves Krusovice on tap), all lorded over by photos/paintings of it's namesake. Expect fat sandos (e.g., pastrami on rye, mesquite chicken on focaccia), Eastern-Euro specialties like paprika goulash w/ dumplings and sauerbraten, and powering the whole deal, upbeat Czech tunage (aka, Prague Rock?).

Somehow developed in Tahoe, this iPhone App's got hundreds of painstakingly crafted drink recipes from big-deal barmen (Gary Regan, Robert Hess, Dave Wondrich, etc), plus "all the classics". Each cocktail features detailed ingredients/instructions, a brief history, and "If you liked this, you'll love..."-style links to other concoctions, i.e., if you dug the gin/maraschino/orange Casino Royale, you might like either the Aviation or Floridita 1930 (and will definitely hate Quantum of Solace).

Opening next week, this nearby villa-style resort's got lavishly appointed rooms (from 550-2000+ sq ft, each with a balcony and stone tub), an infinity pool/hot tub that overlooks the Santa Cruz mountains, and a 17,000 sq ft spa (huzzah!). There's also a resto, decked out with a limestone-framed fireplace and 50-seat patio, which plates rustic American fare like slow-grilled strip loin in gnocchi ragout, and poached Arctic char w/ veal sweetbreads -- because nothing says villa-style relaxation like a dip in the hot tub, a deep-tissue massage, and ravenously devouring the brains of cage-raised baby animals.
