Hump This

Eat n' Drink: RN74

At The Millenium Tower; 301 Mission St, at Beale; Financial District; 415.543.7474

From Michael Mina, an ex-Rubicon somm, and a former French Laundry sous chef, RN's a hungry wino's mecca, comprised of 113 seats (spread between the dining room and bar) under wood arches/metal framework evocative of an old Euro train station. There's around 3000 French and "new world Pinot" bottles (including 75 for under $100 on the rotating-daily train-sched-style "Market Board"), while affordable French-Cali grub ranges from mini action like sweet bread ragout w/ blue prawns, to full-fledged fare like sauteed scallops in honey broth, kumquats, and lovage -- a close relative of celery, only much more affectionate.

Go: Jews On Vinyl Revue

Thu April 30th at the Contemporary Jewish Museum; 736 Mission St, btwn 3rd and 4th; SOMA; 415.655.7800

To commemorate its current show of Jewish-American LPs from the '40s-'80s (many sourced from attics and thrift stores), the Museum's throwing a rager w/ Israeli/Latin mashup jams, a cash bar featuring He'brew, and live performances by 93-yr-old Irving Fields (world-renowned for his "Bagels and Bongos" LP) and Korean-immigrant-turned-70s-Yiddish-pop-sensation Johnny Yune, who also starred in the epic martial arts spoof They Call Me Bruce?, in which he was confused for Bruce Lee, by people moments away from vicious a chair-hoisting.

Score a free He'brew by entering promo code "THRILL" when purchasing tix at TheCMJ.org

Fresh from Sweden, Dunderdon's newest kinda-workwear includes waxed canvas outerwear like the snap-placket, zip-away-hood Axelman and the M-65esque "Ian" Rain Jacket w/ four squarish hip and breast snap pockets in royal blue, plus button-downs like the vertically striped poplin cotton Sweeney and the relaxed fit Szabo Camp Shirt, which is washed-soft, although certainly not by you.

Eat: Pal's Takeaway

Opening today inside Tony's Market; 2751 24th St, at Hampshire; The Mission; 415.203.4911

A couple of caterers/restaurateurs have co-opted the deli inside Tony's market to sling ultra-fresh, constantly changing gourmet sandos and cheap salads. Today's goodness includes slow-roasted Becker Lane pork shoulder w/ arugula on a Kaiser roll, and grilled/marinated beef on an Acme roll w/ pickled carrot, daikon, & herbed canola mayo -- a spread that can turn an ordinary Viet-style sando into a bonafide Goombahn Mi.

Menu's posted daily at PalsTakeaway.com
