From cocktailian Thad Vogler, the just-opened BA is a contemporary tavern set in a former brewery warehouse in SOMA, with custom concrete floors, three illuminating skylights and tables & chairs made from white oak saturated in red wine. Food'll include nose-to-tail NorCal cuisine (Chopped Liver on Toast, Rolled Chicken and an Egg, Roasted Leg of Lamb), but the back-to-basics cocktails will be the star, highlighted by the Presidente (California agricole, farmhouse curaƧao, grenadine, orange bitters), and the Cali brandy, lemon, apple, maple, and aromatic bitter Jersey Sour, which you'll swear you won't drink, but then you end up drinking it every Thursday, but just so you can talk to other people about drinking it.
