Insight Summer Gear
Australians really have chilling figured out, what with the laid-back summer attitude year-round, and the uncanny ability to hide behind "famous" sunglasses when being coerced into apologies by meddling newscasters. Wear that chill, with Insight.
Breezing into town tomorrow, the summer drop from Aussie surf n' skate label Insight's a happily mixed bag of tees, tanks, shorts, button-downs, and trousers, which incorporate a dizzying array of materials, colors, and graphics, and're thematically unified by a look that says "I am not busy". Drapey, uber-casual cotton tanks and tees rock designs like Elvis's face w/ a tropical postcard over his eyes, and horizontal black-white-stripes you realize are a repeated Kerouac quote once close up ("Avoid the world, it's just a lot of dust and drag..."), while the not-quite-dressy button-downs feature subtle tweaks like raggish collar patchwork and single contrast buttons at belly button-level -- stylish, but do you really wanna draw all that attention to your giant drooping outie? For your stems, their pleated cotton shorts fall just below the knee, sport five or six pockets w/ classy button-flap closures in front/back, and come in patterns like black/white checks and Scotch plaid; meanwhile, khaki "Savage" pants rock plaid pastel under-belt detailing, while green/grey/black plaid "Gonzo" pants're infused w/ spandex for maximum comfort, as long as nobody knows you're wearing spandex pants.
The gear hits Azalea tomorrow, and'll be ushered in with free brownies, Colt 45, and hip hop/electro spun by a DJ called Whooligan -- all adding up to a party someone's gonna have to say sorry for.
