Item Not As Described
The old adage about one man's trash being another man's treasure can be misleading, especially when it's a toilet on wheels, "only used a couple of years by elderly individual". Reveling in that fact, Item Not As Described.
Locally written INAD's a blog that intrepidly celebrates the shoddiest things ever attempted to be unloaded as "free" on Craigslist -- broken autos, broken appliances...rocks -- which're made hilariouser through biting bits of expert analysis delivered by the blog's curators, who clearly have more than enough rocks. Some choice examples:
A box overflowing with tangled audio cords and wires: "To find the real good stuff in this pile, you first have to go in up to your elbows and weed out the knots of horsehair and underfed snakes. Try plugging a California Kingsnake into an RCA plug and you’ve got trouble. They’re just not shielded very well."
A ratty grey couch with massive headrest stains on either end: "The two people who used this couch - every day for years - clearly didn’t like each other much: note how far apart their respective head stains are. It’s too bad, really, because they obviously had a lot in common."
Potential benefits of a small, circular, four foot deep "swimming pool" filled with water that appears to be pitch black:
- 100 million mosquito larvae could be harvested from it -- today.
- The local constabulary could use it to practice dragging the lake for bodies.
- Evidence could be hidden in it -- no one would willingly search its depths.
Should you come across a gem during your own Craigslist trolling, send it in and if enough people vote on its demerit, it'll make the blog's front page -- although you should never judge someone else's crap until you've walked a mile with it sitting next to you in a rolling toilet.
