Ultimate Cocktails with Ronaldo

If there's one thing better than learning to make great free drinks, it's having someone make those drinks for you. Dropping the knowledge and the work, Ronaldo at Americano.

To showcase his newest additions to 'Cano's vaunted cocktail program, starting tomorrow award-winning boozologist Ronaldo Colli's doing free weekly demos at the bar's far end, where he'll methodically learn you a new drink each week -- talkin' ingredients, technique, and inspiration -- and then hand it over to you gratis when you mention Thrillist, or undress him with your eyes. Here's what's on tap:

Tomorrow: The Kama Sutra
Pictured left, this number features Ronnie's favorite three spirits (anejo tequila, mezcal, green chartreuse), flamed grapefruit rind, and just won the man "best technique" at SF Cocktail Week, narrowly edging out the rhythm method.

July 1st: The Vive Verbena
This gin/lemon/Mathilde peach concoction's built around pungent South American Verbena leaves, which 'Naldo began stirring into drinks last month when "Chef Paul said, 'hey, we got some Verbena, man'", a considerable step up in drink inspiration from the time he said, "hey, we got some head cheese, man".

July 8th: The Nuvola
This one's got a summer vibe, bringing together Mount Gay rum, dimmi liqueur, pineapple juice, and gently muddled mint. Why? "Because no one is making pineapple cocktails and I love pineapple, so why not?" Well played, Ronaldo.

July 15th's installment will be either a classic Margarita on the rocks, or Ronaldo's own Tore Margarita made w/ jalapeno/tamarind -- because if there's one thing better than free drinks it's people making you free drinks with vaguely suspicious ingredients you're afraid to handle.
