Thrillist Washington DCBecause traditional snowboarding trails are just going downhill fast, hit The Streets, Seven Springs' jam-worthy new terrain park opening as soon as there's white stuff, and inventively providing the feel of "urban snowboarding" by outfitting an extensive city-facade with rails, benches, gaps, and wall rides inspired by "the surrounding area of Pittsburgh", marking the first time it's inspired anyone.
Up top, the first obstacle (dubbed "Last Call") has been made to look like a dive bar with a huge brick building side (with windows and street lights) housing a 25ft downrail over a staircase, a giant flat box in metropolis-style granite, and a long flat handrail called the "creeper ledge", also located just behind the "make-out point" in every 1950s town.
Assuming you survive, you'll then hit the park's biggest structure, which features a 25ft close-out rail leading to a multi-story wall ride on a replica of Pitt's famous "PPG" building, a kinked 35ft handrail, and a news stand that doesn't appear to really have any obstacles built into it...unless you count trying to maneuver around the media's extreme liberal bias!
And because it's possible that you're not quite ready to hit 35ft kinked rails, the park's also littered with smaller ledges and pipes built into or alongside city elements like planter boxes, traffic cones, bus stops, and park benches, all of which'll ensure you get that metro feel without having to spend all day worrying about grooming.
