Grease Monkeys

A new shop for motorcycle and rockabilly gear

If you’ve got a Harley, watch Sons of Anarchy, or just need a t-shirt that will make either of those appear to be true, you need Grease Monkeys, a garage-y clothing/bike accessories shop opening this time next week (but throwing a special preview this weekend) with a '74 Yamaha greeting you at the door, paintings of a '56 DeSoto and a purple '60 Sedan de Ville, and racks of hard-to-find gear for bikers, rockabilly-ers, tattoo lovers, and punks who aren’t married to Jennifer Hudson.

They're the only Southeast stockist for much of their overwhelmingly black, hog-ready clothing, which includes button-down work shirts from Rock Steady, jackets from Germany-based King Kerosin, tees with wrench-holding red monsters by metal artist Dirty Donny, and Felon hoodies, which you should shank the owners for stocking. Shank them very much!

They also have tees from local artists like Tyson McAdoo, plus embroidered Dickies pants, handmade leather belts, and a collection of crazy foot-sheaths (w/ robots, luchadores, ninjas…) from Portland’s Sock It To Me, which in Portland, they call "something you wouldn't understand, proletarian wage-slave".

Motorcyclists'll dig the wall of for-sale tail lights, seats, handlebars, grips, and painting/pin-striping supplies, along with awesome vintage helmets that've been gutted and re-padded to meet modern safety standards for shock-absorbing, which would've been handy for when you found out Jennifer Hudson dropped a ton of weight, and married a dude from a wrestling show on Syfy.
